Deep Water Theatre School
The Deep Water Theatre School is a summer arts program for youth in Grades 4 through 12
who want to learn more about drama, music, movement and other aspects of theatre production
including set design and lighting.
Founded in 1998, and running every summer since, Deep Water Theatre School has
presented several full-length productions. In addition to theatrical work, the members of
Deep Water Theatre School engage in games and sports activities which helps in confidence
building and leadership skills.
Rehearsals
The 2008 Program will see the Junior Troupe (grades 4 – 8) and Senior Troupe (grades 9 – 12) split into two different sessions again. Beginning the week of July 7, Junior members will rehearse Mon-Thursday from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Seniors will rehearse Mon – Thursday 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Classic Theatre. The students will be educated in the artistic areas of theatre, music, movement and technical procedures. They will be given the opportunity to work hands-on with our talented instructors to construct a musical.
The final week of DWTS is 'Production Week'. The students will be given the opportunity to experience the thrill of putting on a production at the end of the school. The main event is the final performance where family, friends and the community are invited to experience the outcome of a truly exciting and educative opportunity in the performing arts.
In addition, we are adding a Shallow Water Troupe to the mix this year. This program is for students grade K – 3 and will rehearse on Wednesday mornings from 9 – 12.

Program Dates
The program commences the week of July 7, 2008 and will run through the final performance dates.
The Final performance will be held on August 8, 9, 10, 15 & 16, 2008.
