Deepwater Theatre School

Wizard of Oz The Deep Water Theatre School is a summer arts program for youth in Grades 1 through 12 who want to learn more about drama, music, movement and other aspects of theatre production including set design and lighting.

Founded in 1998, and running every summer since, Deep Water Theatre School has presented several full-length productions. In addition to theatrical work, the members of Deep Water Theatre School engage in games and sports activities which help in confidence building and leadership skills.

Rehearsals

The 2009 Program will see the Junior Troupe (grades 1 – 8) and Senior Troupe (grades 9 – 12) back together again. Beginning the week of July 6, all students will rehearse Monday to Thursdays from 9am to 4pm. The students will be educated in the artistic areas of theatre, music, movement and technical procedures. They will be given the opportunity to work hands-on with our talented instructors to construct a musical.

Wizard of Oz

The final two weeks of DWTS are 'Production Weeks'. The students will be given the opportunity to experience the thrill of putting on a production at the end of the school. The main event are the final performances where family, friends and the community are invited to experience the outcome of a truly exciting and educative opportunity in the performing arts.
