“AARON LINES CONCERT POSTPONED TO MAY 7, 2010”
August 21, 2009
The Classic Theatre would like to advise its patrons that the Aaron Lines concert, previously scheduled for September 10, 2009 has been postponed until May 7, 2010. The artist’s booking agency, The Agency Group, contacted Classic Theatre General Manager, Angela Drainville-Ashick, late last week to request the date change.
“Aaron has had some significant stresses in his personal life recently, and he has requested to take some time off to deal with a very difficult life circumstance,” explains Drainville-Ashick. “The Classic Theatre values the relationship between artist and presenter and is eager to accommodate Aaron through this period.” Drainville-Ashick assures patrons that it is not typically the Classic Theatre’s policy to allow artists to break or make significant changes to their contracts once the tickets have been put on sale, but that this particular situation has convinced them to allow it. “I cannot disclose the exact circumstances surrounding this move, but will assure the public that Aaron is well and able to perform,” includes Drainville-Ashick.
The Aaron Lines concert will remain in the Classic Theatre’s Great Country Series which kicked off with the Abrams Brothers earlier this month and also includes Doc Walker and Deric Ruttan.
“We are still selling the Country package,” explains Drainville-Ashick, “we currently have Doc Walker on October 13th , Deric Ruttan on February 2nd and Aaron Lines on May 7th. The individual price for these shows is $110, but if you purchase a package of the three remaining shows, it can be yours for only $93.”
For more information about the change of date for the Aaron Lines concert or for more information on the Great Country Season, please contact the Classic Theatre at (705) 679-8080.

CLASSIC THEATRE CELEBRATES A LINE UP OF JUNO NOMINEES
February 4, 2009
A year of great music at the Classic Theatre in Cobalt was underscored this year by the 2009 Juno Award nominations. Never before in the history of the Classic Theatre have they presented so many Juno nominees in the same year for which they were nominated.
Hedley, who played the Classic Theatre on June 22, received three nominations in the categories of People's Choice, Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. David Usher, who appeared on the Cobalt stage in October received a nomination for Rock Album of the Year and is competing against September's performers Sloan in the same category. Chic Gamine, artists who played the Classic Theatre in January, have been nominated in the best Roots & Traditional Album of the Year Group. Rounding out the nominations are Great Northern Thaw artists: Serena Ryder, who has been nominated in the categories of Artist of the Year and Adult Alternative Album of Year, Doc Walker, nominated for best Country Recording of the Year and Kardinal Offishall, nominated for Single of the Year and Rap Recording of the Year. Of course it is very exciting news for Classic Theatre General Manager, Angela Drainville-Ashick. "When you are out looking for shows to bring in, you are always trying to stay on top of not only what's going to sell in your community, but also what will be a source of pride for your sponsors and community stakeholders," said Drainville-Ashick, "we've assumed a lot of risk to bring great shows to the area, and it's great to see that our programming is in line with the national view of the music industry."
Tickets are still available to the Kardinal Offishall show on February 6, 2009, and can be picked up at the Classic Theatre box office, by calling (705) 679-8080 or at Robertson's Gifts and Variety.
Drainville-Ashick promises more of this caliber of shows for the coming season, and reminds people to keep checking the website at www.classictheatre.net for a list of upcoming performances.
For more information please contact Angela Drainville-Ashick, General Manager at (705) 679-5188 or at (705) 648-0049.
