The Sunparlour Players
The Canadian alternative folk band, The Sunparlour Players, bring their lively and exciting show back to The Classic Theatre for your enjoyment. Based in Toronto, the band consists of Haileyburian Dennis Van Dine on bass, keyboard, clarinet, banjo, glockenspiel, percussion and backing vocals, Michael Rosenthal on drums, glockenspiel, banjo, backing vocals, and bass and Andrew Penner on lead vocals, guitar, bass, banjo, organ pedal, and kick drum.
The band started playing together in 2005 and independently released its debut album, Hymns for the Happy, in 2006. They are an intensely creative force and are constantly evolving. In 2009 they released "Wave North" which was recorded partially at Blue Rodeo's Woodshed Studio and partially at Toronto's Factory Theatre. The critically acclaimed album harnesses their strong personal storytelling and features a bigger, fuller sound reflecting their growing confidence in their expansive talents.
This band is really coming into its own. Come out and see for yourself.
